Scarelli interprets this not as comfort but as an overwhelming condition — a heart made unbearably porous by its own sensitivity. Completed in 2025 at 183 × 152 cm, the painting is built from mixed media on canvas and demonstrates Scarelli's ability to modulate intensity across a large surface. Passages of extraordinary delicacy — veils of transparent medium, barely-there marks — alternate with denser, more urgent moments. The work asks what it costs to hear everything, and what kind of inner life must be constructed to survive that exposure.
