About this work

What distinguishes Joyce’s practice—and drives his long-term collectability—is the sophistication behind his simplicity. Each print distills expression into essential shapes, creating compositions that feel playful at first glance but reveal rigorous balance, color strategy, and conceptual clarity upon closer inspection. This reductionist vocabulary has become a hallmark of his market, and the new release expands it with fresh palettes, refined curves, and subtle compositional shifts that deepen the narrative of his evolving practice.

About James Joyce

James Joyce is a British artist, born in Wolverhampton, England, and educated at Walsall College of Art and Kingston University. He began his career in illustration before expanding his practice into painting, screen printing, and drawing.

Joyce is known for a bold, graphic visual language built around typographic forms and everyday imagery, often reworking familiar symbols and faces into flat, minimalist compositions. His style favors clean lines and balanced color, using simplicity to carry more complex or witty commentary beneath the surface. Much of his work engages with the visual language of branding and popular culture, reimagining recognizable imagery in a way that feels immediate and distinctly his own.

His profile grew significantly in 2015, when his rotating video installation, Perseverance in the Face of Absurdity, was featured in Banksy's exhibition Dismaland and selected by Banksy as the event's signature image. Joyce has also worked on commissions for major clients including Apple, Nike, and The New York Times, and has exhibited at institutions including the Royal Academy of Arts and Saatchi Gallery. His paintings are held in private collections worldwide.
