Taher Jaoui: Chaos, Energy, and the Language of Abstraction
August 27, 2026
Taher Jaoui's canvases are collisions — of color, gesture, mathematics, and raw emotion. The Tunisian-born, Madrid-based artist left a career in engineering to pursue painting, and that duality shows: his large-scale abstract works fuse spontaneous, expressive mark-making with an underlying sense of structure, weaving in scribbles, symbols, and equations. Influenced by abstract expressionism, CoBrA, and street art, Jaoui creates compositions that feel both playful and powerful. In this video, we dive into his practice, his influences, and how his work speaks the universal language of abstraction.
