Overview
“My first art show was in a pizza place in Provincetown that I didn’t expect much from, but [it] ended up being a sold‑out show. When I was first starting out there were so many supportive people in the community that believed in me and I owe [them] a lot of my success today because I’m lucky enough to live here.”
Derek Macara is an American artist born in 1987. Macara's artwork can be found around the world. He is popularly known for his paintings depicting rural New England scenery, particularly for his depictions of his native Cape Cod. Further fueled by his creative energy, Macara has also leveraged social media - particularly TikTok and Instagram - to share his painting process with a broad audience.
