Nick Veasey: Beneath the Surface

Nick Veasey has spent his career asking a question most of us never think to ask: what does the inside of things actually look like? Not something broken or dissected, but the interior of the world exactly as we live in it. The cars we covet. The icons we grew up with. The flowers we pass without stopping. Built in a purpose-designed radiation-proof studio in Kent over two decades, his answer is consistent: the inside is just as beautiful as the outside. Sometimes more.

What he does technically is expose the hidden interior of objects, people, and the natural world. What he does emotionally is harder to describe. He points his process at the things we spend our lives coveting, admiring, and walking past without a second glance, and he shows us what they actually are. The result is never disappointing.
