Invader: Ready Player One
Pixel Art - From Street To Gallery
About This Collection
Guy Hepner presents a selection of works by French artist Invader, bringing together some of the most recognizable forms and concepts from his celebrated practice. Drawing from the visual language of early arcade games, Invader has transformed the pixel into a contemporary artistic signature, creating an ongoing global project that exists simultaneously within the streets and the gallery.
The selection includes works from Invader’s Rubikcubism series, in which the artist replaces individual pixels with Rubik’s Cubes to construct instantly recognizable portraits and compositions. The series extends Invader’s fascination with the relationship between art, play, technology, and popular culture, transforming a familiar object into a complex mosaic of color and form.
Also featured are Invasion Kits, objects that connect directly to Invader’s practice of bringing his pixelated characters into the physical world. These works offer collectors a tangible extension of the artist’s street-based interventions, reflecting the playful yet highly systematic approach that has defined his career.
The selection is complemented by prints, offering a range of formats through which to engage with Invader’s distinctive visual language. Across the works, the artist’s signature imagery remains immediately accessible while carrying a deeper connection to his decades-long exploration of anonymity, public space, technology, and contemporary culture.
