About this work

Love Shack transforms an isolated desert structure into a beacon of unexpected tenderness. Against a vast, sun-bleached landscape, Czum places a bright pink neon declaration—“I’m Romantic as Fuck”—on the roof of a weathered shack, creating a striking juxtaposition between nostalgia, humor, and raw sincerity. The photograph plays with the tension between rugged Americana and contemporary pop sensibility, elevating a forgotten roadside relic into an unforgettable statement of bold, unfiltered emotion. Both cinematic and tongue-in-cheek, Love Shack captures Czum’s signature ability to blend irony, romance, and visual poetry into a single, iconic moment.

About Jeffrey Czum

Jeffrey Czum is a photographer and digital artist born and raised in Buffalo, New York, where he continues to be based. He began sharing his work online and gradually shifted from a hobby into a full-time practice after receiving a steady stream of commission requests from other artists, musicians, and businesses.

Czum builds what he calls "clean collages," starting each piece with a specific subject and a detailed shot list before photographing every element separately, from skies to architecture to stretches of grass, and digitally reconstructing them into a single, seamless image. The result blends photorealistic precision with a surreal, almost impossible sense of space, where skies shift into unexpected gradients and shadows fall at angles that suggest more than one light source. His work frequently incorporates neon text and billboard-style messaging, adding a layer of satire and pop culture commentary beneath a polished, minimal surface.

Drawing on cinematic influence and an interest in American consumer culture, Czum's images reimagine familiar scenes such as motels, highways, and suburban homes as stages for humor and nostalgia. His prints are produced in limited editions, signed and numbered.
