Warhol re-visited the advertising imagery and black-and-white palette of his earliest Pop canvases of the ’60s. The rough-hewn edges, loosely rendered imagery, and unpolished aesthetic of his Late Paintings recalls the hand-painted canvases he produced at the start of his career, such as his seminal Coca Cola [2] (1961).
