Andy Warhol's 1971 retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art was a landmark exhibition that cemented his status as a central figure in American art. Officially titled “Andy Warhol”, the retrospective ran from May 1 to June 13, 1971, and was Warhol’s first major U.S. museum retrospective.  The exhibition featured over 200 works from Warhol’s career up to that point, including his iconic silkscreens, films, and sculptures. In 2018, a second retrospective took place at the Whitney Museum showcasing the ongoing legacy and relevance of Warhol. We present a selection of works inspired by the genius of Warhol and the works displayed at the Whitney that celebrates the timeness nature of his Warhol and the power of his beauty to continue to inspire.

Warhol's artworks continue to perform strongly at auctions. For instance, his Camouflage painting sold for £2.48 million at Sotheby's London in March 2025, aligning with its high estimate. Portraits such as Debbie Harry and Jimmy Carter have also achieved impressive results, fetching $340,000 + and circa $200,000 USD respectively at recent auctions

The print market, in particular, has shown resilience. Warhol's Endangered Species series set a new record in November 2024 with a sale of $4.3 million. Complete sets and Trial Proofs (TPs) are especially sought after, with collectors valuing their rarity and cohesive themes. Likewise, across price points, Warhol's iconic and classic motifs continue to attract both seasoned & experienced collectors looking for classic imagery that holds value.
