Jason Hackenwerth is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation. His paintings are characterized by a loose and spontaneous approach, often emerging as responses to social, political, and personal issues. Through dynamic compositions, Hackenwerth navigates his emotions, addressing the constant barrage of media and life's challenges. Each painting reflects a journey of both struggle and resolution. His work has been showcased in galleries and museums globally.
Hackenwerth earned his MFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Fine Art in printmaking from Webster University. His work has been featured in numerous publications, including Art Desk, Creative Review UK, American Craft, Design Journal, Art In America, Sculpture Magazine, The New York Times, and London Metro. He is a 2011 recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Inc. grant and a two-time recipient of the Creative Pinellas Professional Artist Grant. Hackenwerth currently resides and works in St. Petersburg, FL.
