Bochner's passion for language drives him to meticulously fill notebooks with synonyms, a process that can span months or even years before he translates them into paintings centered around select "key" words. In "Money," the deliberate selection of diverse colors for each word or phrase disrupts a linear interpretation of the orderly lines. Utilizing slang terms such as "cheddar" alongside juxtaposed biblical phrases like "root of all evil," Bochner underscores the expansive lexicon employed to articulate the omnipresent concept of currency.
