Keith Haring’s Growing series from 1988 is a suite of five screen prints, each of which are from an edition of 100. The series features some of Haring's most iconic humanoid figures. However, it also displays captivating visual experimentation not seen in some of the artist's earlier works. The figures in Growing stretch nearly the entire length of the composition and mimic the visual language of hieroglyphics. This language is similar to the language of advertising, and in making this work Haring uses his screen printed figures to communicate his ideals in a manner that appeals to mass media.
