Printed by Rupert Jasen Smith in New York and published by Art Expo Danmark in Odense, Denmark, the portfolio was completed shortly before Warhol’s passing in 1987. Each print in the series, including Hans Christian Andersen FS. II 395, was posthumously stamped in black on the verso and catalogued from FS II.394 to FS. II 401. This vibrant work captures the whimsical spirit of Andersen’s tales through Warhol’s unmistakable Pop lens.
