Overview
Having dogs drive cars for Subaru to revitalizing Sasquatch for Jack Link's Beef Jerky, Brock Davis has done it all.
American artist Brock Davis has a knack for seeing creative ideas in the smallest, most commonplace items, from building a treehouse in a floret of broccoli to creating a scale model of Stonehenge with Rice Krispies. As an award-winning creative director for almost three decades, he has also put this talent to good use in his professional career, from having dogs drive cars for Subaru to revitalizing Sasquatch for Jack Link's Beef Jerky.
However, it is in his personal artwork and photography that he allows his imagination to run riot. In 2009, Davis embarked on a project where he created one piece of art a day for a year. This endeavor, coupled with the emergence of social media, helped him gain a global following, even catching the eye of Banksy, who invited him to exhibit works at 'Dismaland,' where he praised Brock’s work as 'a freewheeling sideways energy that’s impossible not to love.' Target tapped him to create his own line of graphic tees, which were sold nationally and often seen on shows like Modern Family and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
His work has been commissioned by brands including Adidas, Apple, and Coca-Cola, and featured in hundreds of art and design blogs and publications. He has been interviewed by Robert Krulwich of NPR, Fast Company, Buzzfeed, Wired, and Designboom, and has created editorial art for The New York Times, The Atlantic, GQ, Esquire, Wired, and a cover for Time magazine.
