Oil on panel
Barn Polaroid 1 by Todd Koelmel
Todd Koelmel teeters between digital and analog. Born in 1973, the oil painter resides in upstate New York. Though many of his paintings consist of reimagined landscapes, Koelmel captures a wide array of subjects, including portraits, still lifes, typography, and abstract work. Despite the variety of content, his style is iconic. Thick lines, saturated color blocks, and digital elements bordering meta are all signature to the artist. His flattened images live in the happy medium of being nostalgic yet modern.
