Honey Onyx Stone by Bruce Makowsky
Honey Onyx Stone by Bruce Makowsky are hand carved mixed media sculptures. Honey onyx stone is premium translucent onyx mined at high elevation. Similar to marble and travertine in strength and other traits, honey onyx replaces these traditional architectural stones as a more versatile and beautiful stone artist, Makowsky uses to produce his one of a kind collection.
About Bruce Makowsky:
“True luxury is rebellious, above the status quo – it is lofty, it is life amplified by reverie, it is boundless beauty. But perhaps what makes luxury so unique is its rareness, its loftiness and its seductive unattainability.” – Bruce Makowsky
Over the last 25 years, Bruce Makowsky’s evolution as a fine artist stems from his experience in the fashion world – his designer accessories and handbags gave him an opportunity to experiment with materials, like leather and metals – and his experience in the world of property development has afforded him the opportunity to fully realize some of his artistic concepts and visions. Moreover, his familiarities in both the fashion and real estate world have given him a one-of-a-kind insight into luxury goods and the mechanics of luxury. As a property developer, alone, Makowsky is a complete anomaly. Unlike other property developers that merely stage a home, Makowsky looks at his properties like blank canvases where he can create permanent installation-based works that stay with the new buyer of the home. Not only does he build these homes from scratch – he also creates the artwork that lives inside. In the curation and creation of his property developments, Makowsky is hands on all along the way.
